Welcome to"EMBRACE" Your Weekly Inspiration. Say Hello, to your weekly dose of empowerment and inspiration. I'm here to remind you that your authenticity is your superpower. It takes courage to stand firm in your truth in a world that tries to mold us into something we're not. And trust me, there's nothing more impressive than a person who knows who they are and isn't afraid to show it.
As we go on this journey together I will share with YOU my dear reader more about me and my lived experiences in the hopes that you are Empowered, Inspired, and Catalyzed.
One of my favorite music artist is Mary J. Bridge. During my time in undergrad me and Mary were tight! She was saaaangin’ to me and my crew! She was in heavy rotation before we rolled out to the party, during the road trips to other schools, or just on a really late night while I was up studying. During COVID I had the opportunity to attend a webinar through work where she was actually the guest speaker. I was toooo excited to be able just hear her story from her lips. While I was not sure if my company was ready for her realness I was here for all of it! I was not disappointed at all. During that webinar there was 2 things she said that I have on post-its on my desk still today and I want to share with you:
(1) Avoid Spirit Breakers! People that suck the life of you and drain your spirit. They may not know that they are breaking your spirit but YOU know the impact they have on you. Create boundaries which includes the “No Spirit Breakers” zone, you will be so much better because of it.
(2) Sometimes you just have to “Thug It Out”! Now again she said this is a corporate setting so it just tickled me to my soul that she said it! But what I got from what she said is that sometimes you have to just EMBRACE yourself, lock in, and endure!
My dear readers when all else fails Avoid Spirit Breakers and Thug it Out!
